Darn Statistics! - Still Pointing to an Obama Win
Three separate econometric studies are showing Barack Obama winning between 52 and 55 percent of the popular vote on November 4, based on current gloomy economic estimates.
This continues the drumbeat of data that we digit-heads love to read. I know... what a geek!
"It's still the economy, among other things... stupid!? BRD discussed this previously here.

Support Returns - Wes Clark for VP
There is a strong signal breaking through the noise in the NetRoots...
Wes Clark is getting a serious second look as we close in on the Democratic Convo.
OpenLeft makes a pitch. NoVa BlogMeister Lowell at Raising Kaine is plugging for Wes Clark.
The data dogs at FiveThirtyEight like the strength of an Obama-Clark ticket...
But here's the really interesting one. A month ago, picking Wesley Clark would have seemed like a fairly safe choice -- someone who allows you to check the "foreign policy" and "liked by Clinton supporters" boxes. It might have seemed, in other words, like a pander.Polling at DailyKos is showing a strong rising tide for Clark.
But because of the Face the Nation dust-up, all of the sudden it would send a very different message. It would say: we're going to stand our ground, we're not going to be so worried about being politically correct, and we're taking it right to you. Isn't that a fairly optimal message for Obama to send out given the present narrative?
New Obama Clark petition site, working to draft Wes Clark.
BRD signed on to General Clark's team back in June.

"Military man McCain and his staff are being out-maneuvered in the early skirmishes for this historic battleground state."
"The impending political battle for Virginia's electoral votes has attracted an accomplished field general for the Democratic forces. Mitch Stewart has been tapped to lead the Obama team, in this hotly contested, tipping point state. And as in the historic battles of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars fought on Virginia soil, success this time around will likely be determined by leadership and logistics."
