Stupid is as stupid does.
There is scant evidence that
proudly stupid Americans, in the right third of the political bell curve, will soon be motivated to change their ways. They simply are not capable of understanding predictive science, until it kills them, figuratively and literally. Oops. Good ol Charles Darwin called it,
On the Origin of Species.
The culling process will take years -- decades. Denial of economic and environmental realities will eventually lead to a gradual winnowing of this sad, stagnant gene pool. Big Money interest will find it increasingly difficult to find enough scared, old, middle-class white folks; to support their well-funded agenda (see
Astro Turf Tea Party). Big Money interest did it to themselves, they broke the Great Bargain with the American middle-class. Instead of sustaining Henry Ford's or Thomas Edison's vision of progress and common good for all Americans.
"One's own employees ought to be one's own best customers," Mr. Ford said years later. "Paying high wages," he concluded, "is behind the prosperity of this country."
The latest generation of MBA enabled, satanic, Wall Street wizards had other things in mind. They off-shored and out-sourced to
maximize profit, but with little foresight, they destroyed the American middle-class consumer in the process.
Oh My, Did We Do That?
The massive societal changes being unleashed by a new generation of young Arabs or the unbridled youthful fury in the very proper streets of London, are ample evidence of the tectonic re-balancing process that
will come back to America. The
middle third and
left third of the Americans bell curve will increasingly fight back. They are no longer afraid or apathetic. There will be no compromising with the Tea Party Jihadists. A Cold Civil War, like the rage of the 60's, will likely ensue.
The youth of America went to the barricades in the 60's. Old Baby Boomers and their Millennials compatriots, are beginning to realize the
great unraveling of American Economic Justice and Environmental Stewardship is being driven by an extremely theocratic (by nature, anti-science) gang of Tea Party Jihadists, that are simply out to destroy the United States of America.
They will be stopped. God and Intelligence are on our side. Satan and Stupid are on theirs.
We tried to teach 'em, we tried to warn 'em .... and in the end, Engineers and Scientists (along with other rational thinkers), will have to deal with the systemic ecological damage and man-made process failures, due to inadequate adaptive responses, caused by intentional political sabotage and theocratic terrorism from Republicans and their ilk.
An old Fram oil filter TV ad sums it quite succinctly, "
