I love you'all ... but show me the Data!

    Why Data is Your Friend

I often say that when you can measure what you are speaking about, and express it in numbers, you know something about it; but when you cannot express it in numbers, your knowledge is of a meagre and unsatisfactory kind; it may be the beginning of knowledge, but you have scarcely, in your thoughts, advanced to the stage of Science, whatever the matter may be.

    WARNING LABEL

IFU - Instructions for Use - Read with care. Don't take it too seriously. If I make you mad, sleep on it before posting a nasty gram. If any comments contain really nasty, or spammy stuff, you know what happens... DELETE. If you like something I've done... just post a love letter for all to see. Finally, it's all about the DATA, so send me any interesting datasets to play with or your ideas for in-depth analysis.

Prerequisites - No math anxiety here... just Add, Subtract, Multiply & Divide. Plus some pretty charts and graphs... with cool colors. I'm a "visualize data" kinda guy. I'll try not to go off the deep-end. Pull me back if I do!

Legal Stuff - For you legal beagles out there... if I have stepped on any legal toes, let me know. I'll make it right. I'm a lover, not a fighter. BRD "heart" Lawyers!

Express Limitations - "Good" Statistics are always based on data quality... you know GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out). If you think my analysis or data sources are flawed, send me more data. I'll gladly review your input and re-run the numbers. Gee ... that's the Scientific Method... it's a beautiful thing.

Disclaimers - Opinions expressed here are the author's only. They do not represent the views of Joe Paterno, George Patton, Penn State University, my wife!, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, John Wayne, John Belushi, Edward Deming, Carl Jung or any other person or legal entity... living, dead, or any other state of existence. You get the point!
